The main difference between revising and editing is...
Revising is finding simple mistakes (i.e typos, grammer, ect)
Editing is more in-depth (i.e. sentence structure, moving paragraphs around, etc)
What I have been doing to my midterm portfolio is revising, i do this by look over the essay and finding any typos I may have with it. Sometimes (if I have to) I will take a complete overlook over the project and fix whatever I need to.
